By Night’s End (2020)

Recently I was approached by TriCoast Worldwide to review their soon to be released film, By Night’s End. This home invasion thriller managed to hold my attention the whole way through with its constant action. Not only was the story solid, but the acting was extremely convincing: the characters were well-developed and very believable. Overall, this movie was very well put together, and a must watch for any of my readers who enjoy a good psychological/crime thriller.

I rate this film a 7.5 out of 10. The two leads in the film, husband and wife, Mark (played by Kurt Yue) and Heather (played by Michelle Rose), gave powerful performances as a very deliberate husband and wife crime-fighting duo. Also notable was Michael Aaron Milligan’s unsettling performance in the role of Moody, a member of an organized crime ring who terrorized Mark and Heather. The exchanges between these three characters were truly what made this movie worth watching.

This movie was full of surprises. There are moments where you think the action will begin to plateau, but instead things escalate one step further or twist in an unexpected direction. Also worth mentioning was the strong female empowerment message being conveyed via the character Heather. She was by far the stronger fighter of the couple, and the more resilient of the two. This was a refreshing break from some of the more vintage content that I typically review. If you are looking for a great movie pick this weekend look no further!
